UPDATE:
In Autumn 2023 Phase 1 of installing accessible play equipment, as most asked for by residents was completed.

Phase 2: Is currently out to tender / procurement - with your design and needs that you all wanted! This will include a new younger children area & a zip line!

On June 11th 2022, we created the Arty Party in the Park event, funded by SYCF & Arts Council ‘Let’s Create’ funding - we hired play specialists, designers & artists to help residents think about play.

Some of the questions we’re asking:

What play is and what it can be? How good play feels.
Why play matters?

Everyone had a great time, made their own play spaces/equipment designs and fedback on what they might like to make our ward more playful!
You can find the findings from over 350 people who attended here. This includes gender breakdown, as lots of play spaces are made with what boys want in mind. We’re taking lead from makespaceforgirls.co.uk

Thanks to this event, we have been able to secure Levelling Up Parks Fund, which will start in Adwick Park this year (2023), as part of our phase 1 update. With more creative activity & play equipment happening in phase 2 alongside the building of Adwick Park Community & Sports Pavillion.

We’re looking for more people to help us spread the love for play & raise money so we can do up all of the other play areas & make new play events through the ward, for people of all ages!

These would not be possible without communities hard work and council officers & other partner's support.
